Boko Haram Sponsored by Foreign interests - FG

Members of the dreaded terrorist group – Boko Haram – receive support from some foreign nations to terrorize Nigerians, the Minister of Information and Supervising Minister of Defence, Mr Labaran Maku has alleged.
Maku, who made this known at the 44th National Council on Information held in Osogbo, Osun State capital on Friday, added that members of the Islamist sect have international networks, hence the difficulty by the Federal Government to successfully curb their operations.
According to him, “we are dealing with enemies that have international connections, enemies that use international weapons and enemies with international influence with good money got from different people around the world. That is why it has not been easy to fight them but with the help of God, we shall overcome these enemies of our nation.”
He added: “We are fighting against enemies that have no friend and who are ready to destroy our nation. They are using everything to fight against the peace of this nation, but very soon, we shall get over the situation in Nigeria.”
He declared that without peace in the North where the terrorists have a stronghold, there could not be peace in any part of the country, adding: “With Boko Haram in the North, there is no place that is safe in the country to live.”
Mr Maku, who noted that members of the Boko Haram sect unleashing terror in the country have the backing of influential people around the world, stressed that “terrorists in the country, have influence with great people spread across different parts of the world.”
