Governor of Lagos state, Ahmed Bola Tinubu was crowned as the new
Iyaloja of Lagos, and the president general of the market men and
women of Nigeria.
The new Iyaloja took over from the late grandmother, Habibat
Mogaji, who died in June 2013.
The installation ceremony took place at the palace of the oba of
Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu 1. It was indeed a colourful event.
Markets all over Lagos were shut down in honour of the new
Iyaloja. Before her new position, the new Iyaloja was the deputy
president general of the market men and women.
