25-year old singer Rihanna went through a painful traditional Maori
tribal tattoo designed by Inia Taylor in New Zealand, where she is
currently on tour. This traditional artwork is considered a rite of
passage, and was tattoed on her right hand with a chisel, mallet and
ink.
"It's not about getting a tattoo, it's a ceremony. Tattoos aren't
fashion. They are a way to get rid of pain in your life. You have to
create pain to get over pain". Taylor told celebuzz; adding that the
star confided in him about her own pain throughout the process. "I
didn't realise she had an a**hole of a boyfriend, she said. The tattoo
is just a reminder of the things in the past. Lord knows she overcame
a lot of that sh**".
The Barbadian pop superstar has a total of 19 tatoos already. They
include stars on her back, the phrases "rebelle fleur", and more.

LAURYN HILL RELEASED FROM PRISON

Singer and Songwriter Lauryn Hill has been released from a federal prison in Danbury, Connecticut, after serving her three month sentence for tax evasion, Officials said.
   Hill, 38, had been behind bars since July 8. The singer was convicted of failing to pay taxes on more than $1.8m in income she earned between 2005 and 2007.
